I have spent a lot of time with short stories this month, and this quote made me laugh. I never considered creating a novel might be as easy as a doodle as opposed to a major undertaking. Perhaps I have been looking at this the wrong way round. Could creating a novel be as “straightforward” as creating a doodle? Perish the thought.
Excuse me, I need to find my doodle paper.
Do you have any perceptions you discovered were the wrong way round?

i see a long winding doodle from my brain to my heart – a novel does give us a lot of room to talk and discuss, the short story is all about what we really want to say. I am not sure what to say about perceptions being validated or otherwise but your writing here to day made me consider writing styles, so many different styles that throw me off completely what a writing style should be.

LOL I completely get your confusion. I think the writer had an innate personal style. It may lend itself to certain conventional forms, but each author is a unique as a snowflake.

i like that unique as a snowflake, it is a style that we also look forward to when we see their names , we do associate a certain style with each author
