I love writing but the last two weeks were bumpy. A loved one spent fourteen days in the hospital. I was there every day. His discharge happened late Monday night, and he is much improved. However, it was a challenge getting my planned writing done.
Those short stories… out the window. The piece I needed to edit and rewrite… not done. Something had to give. I don’t buckle at the first roadblock, (besides the drugs let him sleep).
In two weeks, I normally publish thirty posts. I missed five. Straight scale grading gives a “B” grade. Tough to swallow, but that wasn’t the lesson.
What lessons have the bumpy road taught you?

i had the bumpiest road some time ago – taught me that time was what i needed and not to rush myself back into it- having said that, having a deadline to come back to writing is important so we don’t forget our purpose. i hope your loved one is on the road to recovery and doing much better. you take care too ok

Balance. Its that thing we are supposed to do while standing with one foot on a tight rope, the other foot taming a lion all while juggling some precious objects that will break if dropped. 😊😱😊 I am glad you have found your way forward. ❤

i doubt i could juggle all that, keeping a balance is very important for my mental health and I have learned through the years what works and what to avoid.

I believe that those moments where you face the most adversity are the moments where you find out what you’re made of. It’s tough to have a loved one in the hospital, but I think though it’s hard you come out with new levels of caring you didn’t think were possible before.
It also says a lot about what writing and expression means to you- that being said, great quote and great post 🙂

Thanks Jacob. This last stay was less traumatic than the 43 day stay following emergency surgery earlier this year. But you are correct an event like that changes your perspective on many things. To say life has and will continue to change as a result is a given.
The emphasis on my writing is one of those changes. So glad you liked the quote. 😊
