Now is not the time to edit. Put the white-out down, ignore the delete key, give your inner critic a bottle of whiskey (not the good stuff that should be hidden away for November 30th) and set your critic in a locked room with a copy of “War and Peace”.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t trust the white-out.
How do you silence your critic?

You are lucky. My critic and I are often at cross purposes and she gets in the way of just writing. 😊

Yes, I can understand that. You have probably very exacting standards. And then your inner critic hold you to them.

I am my own worse critic. maybe a good Merlot will silence her. I find it very frustrating that I keep going back to the beginning of the manuscript so have to mentally block it out and tackle the story then on

Yep, we are in the same boat. I even approve of your suggestion of a little Merlot. 🍻

Alas, I have yet to find the solution as to how to silence my inner critic. I think at this point, I’ve gotten a little numb to her constant criticism…which I suppose is not a healthy way of dealing with her LOL

LOL Ignoring her is not the answer. You have to let her out to edit things on occasion to keep her happy. Still I struggle with the critic when all I want to do is put words on the page. 😊
