Title: Fair Warning
Source: Friday Fictioneers sponsored by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields-Addicted to Purple
Word count: 100 words
I hate late night dog walks. The mutt insists I honor my responsibility. The mongrel’s insistence on sniffing every blade of grass to prolong our walk is directly proportional to my longing to be tucked in bed.
Tonight is no exception. Maybe I’m cranky, but the nightly tug of war is excessive. I glance at the cur who is trying to pull me in the opposite direction from home. I jerk the leash, and the dog turns, tail between its legs, snarling, it backpedals.
I yank the leash again. A hand covers my mouth and I wish I had listened.

I’ve never liked animals, but I know lots of people who have pets, so I know this is quite a big problem of theirs

Yes it is a problem. For them. 😉

LOL Yes, maybe even the dog will be less inclined to go out at night. Thanks for reading my friend.

LOL Neither did I, but I got to thinking about all those horror movies where they go into the basement and your screaming “don’t go in the basement” Thanks for reading.

Pretty much the horror film formula; don’t go in there and they do that’s when it gets grim. Wouldn’t it be great if they said don’t go in there and they said ok and went to Asda for milk or something?!

LOL that sounds great, more like a parody but I would watch it. I really don’t care for horror movies. 😉

listened to….? to the dog or the inner voice not to go out and walk the dog. the dog must be regretting big time now! humour leading to a scary end, brilliant!

My dog is afraid of the dark, so I don’t have to worry about taking her out at night!

Takes a courageous person to attack a person with a dog… or a fool… or one who can see the dog is not a real threat.
Good take, Jo!

A nightmare for the narrator, but I’m sure the dog will try to protect her/him despite this not being a good dog owner.

Reminds me of a hoodlum who tried to rob me, my dog took a chunk out of him. I am sure that your characters dog will bite where In hurts the most.

Reminds me of siblings. They can pick on each other day in an day out. But when an outsider tries it…. watch out.
