Chuck would have us believe there is something special in ordinary people. I don’t disagree. The genius is to find the extraordinary aspect of your completely ordinary character and writing about that.

the character must be relatable. that makes them real. I read somewhere to put the character to an under the bus test. if you feel they dont make a difference surviving that they can be removed from the story…odd but interesting idea…my 2 cents!

I don’t think it odd at all. The characters in your story have to be remarkable and the reader has to have a connection to them. No room for boring people 😉
