The NaNoWriMo deadline is approaching. Have you met the challenge of writing 50,000 words this month? How many words have you written? If you are close, don’t give up. If you think you might make it, keep writing. If you don’t think you have a change, don’t despair.

The point is to break out of your comfort zone, push yourself to do a little more. If your total is only 5,000 words more than you normally write, I count you as a winner.

Will you write, right up to the deadline?

  1. I love your blog, but today I so disagree with Rita Mae Brown, A deadline to me is a quite positive inspiration. It means I have a writing job. Deadlines, which I faced daily as a newspaper reporter, are my biggest inspiration. I work much better with them. Keep inspiring us JoHawk. It;s as much fun disagreeing as agreeing.

    • Pat you are so right! We can all disagree and still be friends. 😊 Besides, if we were all the same the world would be a pretty boring place. I, too, find a deadline to be invigorating and don’t think of them as negative. Rather I find they help to clarify my objectives and attain my goals. Thanks for commenting 😊
