Finding Meaning In Serendipity – Daily Quote

I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we're all teachers - if we're willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid

Understanding the purpose of a few individuals we encounter on our path is difficult. Consider the giant SUV dude who switches lanes and threatened to take my front bumper with him. Or the woman in the checkout line who jammed her shopping cart into my heels. SUV dude confirmed the proper working order of my anti-lock brakes. Maybe he was late for a job interview. The brutal attack on my ankles is less obvious. Patience? Unconditional forgiveness? It is hard to say when my cry of unexpected pain elicited zero in the way of acknowledgment or apology.

There are true gems. The stranger who helps you after a fall. The dear friend who answers your call regardless of the hour. Unsolicited encouragement, high fives, and even a smile can encourage us. Harsh criticisms can open a window on a new line of thinking. None of it can happen unless we step outside and brave a few bruises.

What risk will you take today?

Keep on writing.

  1. This is so weird and remarkably on point. Lately, I have met some people that I do wonder WHY they were meant to come into my life. You’ve probably experienced this where you go through months or years without really meeting new people. I mean we meet someone, but they do not stay with us. THEN we meet someone and we either seem to keep seeing them or the discussion we had with them lingers on where we KNOW it was not a chance meeting, but there was a “behind the scenes” message that is being sent to us.

Always makes me think of the movie, “A Wonderful Life,” and Clarence, the angel, who is trying to help George in his life.

Thanks for the quote today. People do come in our lives for a reason, we need to think and makes sense of these things. πŸ™‚

    • Ah, you are so right, it does seem to run in cycles. It always seems like they have the same theme, to convey to us, and I would hypothesize it is the message we need to consider and integrate into our lives at that point in time. I hope you discover the “why” in your recent encounters. ❀

I haven’t watched that movie in a long time. I think I will put it on my list. πŸ‘

  2. You Stated — “Understanding the purpose of a few individuals we encounter on our path is difficult.”

My Response — Maybe they have no purpose to you but you have a major purpose to them.

    Just a thought

    • I still like to think there are no accidents, and that every encounter serves a purpose, my friend. If I serve as a teacher to another, we both benefit.

Even here, these two individuals created the impetus for introspection, and the basis for this post. Then it created a response from you. The ripple continues to expand. πŸ™‚πŸ‘
