Yesterday marked the halfway point of June, and on July 1, we will reach the last day of the first half of the year. How are you doing on your writing goals? Do you have fifty percent of your goals accomplished? Or, like me, are you discovering you have fallen a bit behind schedule? Life has a way of stepping in and misdirecting us. It is so easy to succumb to the seductive allure of the bright shiny object that leads us away from our intended mission.
Never fear. All is not lost, and there are ways to move you closer to reaching your writing goal. The secret is remembering to write a little each day. And it is a habit I need to reinstall in my life.
Did you write yesterday?

Jo Hawk The Writer
No, I am nowhere near where I wanted to be, Jo. I have been deliberately teaching myself to stop struggling, as I have discovered that the more I try, the deeper the hole of chaos becomes. Being a carer has become the most important job of all, and all else is slowly fading into the background…
For the moment, at least…

Oh, my dear heart, I know that struggle all to well. You are right. It is the most important job. After three years of navigating cancer and two major surgeries, Sweetie is on the mend. That means my caring duties has been reduced from 2 to something like 1.25 😊 My writing is the one thing I try to do for myself every day. It is nothing grand. Some days I count myself blessed if I squeeze in 50 words. I hope you find a few moments for yourself today so you can take a deep breath, and realize how what a tremendous difference you make every day. 💕💗💕

Kind of you to say that, Jo… I just wish I could do more for Anita, not the writing…

I know you are doing everything you can for Anita. Please remember to take care of yourself so you can continue to be her rock. 💕💗💕

Me too! That darn thing called “Life” keeps getting in the way. But, one day at a time – I did get to write 3 pages or 1,236 words yesterday so that, in my opinion, was a good day. Keep on writing.
