Painted — 3 Line Tales

From Sonya’s 3LineTales at Only100Words.
You can find the original prompt here. Thank you, Sonya.

I feel each stab, each insult, each insignificant pinprick.

I paint my face, and they see what I want them to see, the reality that isn’t real.

Each night reveals the truth and I cry until at last I sleep.

  1. stellar three lines! i let them see what i want them to see. in cognitive neuroscience colour is heavily debated – we see what we have been conditioned to see and accept as truth. i love the play of words and the illusions you create here.

    • Thanks Gina. It is also one of the issues with witness, they can be predisposed to “seeing” something. It is 100% real to them. Rather like those photo illusions of the lady at a mirror or a skull, you can see only one and you are correct. Interesting topic.
